Just after the 10 o'clock hour, as crews were arriving on scene of a minor MVC south of Harbeson, Sussex EOC alerted Milton, Sussex County EMS, and Trooper 2 for a MVC with entrapment on Sand Hill Road in the area of Tobacco Rd. Asst. Chief Clark (85-17) cleared all units except the ambulance from the first call and responded to the second. Engine 85-3 under the command of Chief JR. Clark (85-15) and B-85 responded from the Station. 85 Command (85-17), and A-93 arrived first to find a vehicle overturned in a field with entrapment. Engine 85-3, and 85-5 arrived soon after and began vehicle stabilization. Chief Clark assumed command assigning Asst. Chief Clark as the extrication officer. As additional resources arrived, crews used a combination of airbags, cribbing, and the 32b spreader to lift the car off of the patient and extricate him to the awaiting EMS crew. The entire extrication took less then 10 minutes. The patient was transported to Ambulance 93 and SCEMS to Beebe. DSP is investigating.
