Shortly before 1950 hours, as members had just gone in quarters from a gas leak, power suddenly went dark throughout town. Minutes later, Sussex EOC alerted Station 85 to a MVC unknown, at the above address. 85 Command with Asst. Chief Clendaniel, Engine 85-4, and B-85 all responded within a minute of dispatch. While responding, Sussex EOC advised the units that a second call reported one subject trapped and CPR was being done on a second subject. Sussex also advised Medic 106 and Trooper 2 were being alerted. 85 Command arrived on scene shortly after and reported the same. Engine 4 was a minute behind Command. Asst. Chief Clendaniel advised Engine 4 to split crews, one to begin extrication on the trapped driver, and one to assist EMS with the CPR in progress. B-85 arrived next and began an assessment on the CPR victim. EMS crews advised that victim was a priority 4 and began treatment on the trapped victim. Engine 3 and Brush 85 arrived and assisted the crew of Engine 4 with extrication. Medic 106 and Trooper 2 arrived. ALS assessed the patient and confirmed that they would be flown to CER. The patient was placed in Trooper 2 and flown to CER. Milton Fire units remained on scene until 2130 assisting DSP with lighting. Units responding, Engines 3, 4, Brush 85, 85 Command, A and B-85, Medic 106, Trooper 2, DSP, DSFP, DELDOT, Delmarva Power, Milton PD.
