Chief Derrick Harvey of the Milton Police Department and the Milton Fire Department, addressed the heroic actions of Mr. Preston who selflessly and without hesitation responded to a cry for help. Mr. Preston was outside of his residence when he heard the cry and then observed a capsized kayak. He instantly responded to the capsized boater in the frigid cold water and brought him safely to the shore. Once on shore the boater was transported into the Milton Fire Department ambulance for treatment.
